1. Conclusion of contract

1.1 Liability:

Fréderic Grandchamp acts or intervenes as a facilitator between, on the one hand, the customer and, on the other hand, carriers, hoteliers and in general all service providers who are responsible for their own activities. It follows in particular that Frédéric Grandchamp cannot in any case or under any condition be held responsible for any accident or injury, irregularity, non-reimbursement, delay, strike, war, political problem, fire, breakdown, loss or theft of personal effects and luggage, pandemic. Likewise, the programs may be modified without notice, if for any reason the service providers decide to delete, modify or replace all or part of the programs provided or to substitute hotels or boats with others of the same category. Under these conditions, the contracting party may in any case only claim reimbursement of the sums corresponding to the services not received, excluding any damages whatsoever. In the event of damage, Frédéric Grandchamp will do its best to help the customer assert all justified claims. Frédéric Grandchamp recommends taking out cancellation/assistance insurance in the event of death, accident or illness and baggage insurance in the event of loss or theft of baggage.

1.2 The contract:

The contract takes effect when the deposit is paid. From that moment, the rights and duties arising from the contract (including these general conditions of travel contract) take effect for both the customer and the organizer. Please read the following provisions carefully.

2. Prices and terms of payment

2.1 Price: (according to price list, subject to change) 

The price of the trip to be paid is indicated on our price list. Unless otherwise stated, prices are per person, in Swiss francs, accommodation in a double room and VAT included. Airport taxes are not included. The organizer reserves the right to increase the prices in the event of an increase in the cost of the means of transport, new taxes or increased taxes, modification of the exchange rate or VAT, etc. If the increase amounts to more than 10%, the customer has the possibility of terminating his contract within 5 days in writing and by registered mail.

2.2 Deposit and payment of the balance:

When registering the customer with the organizer, a deposit must be paid. The balance of the price of the trip must reach the organizer no later than 60 days before departure. For cruises and safaris, the balance of the price of the trip must reach the organizer no later than 90 days before departure. In case of reservation less than 30 days, respectively 90 days, payment must be made immediately in full. If payment is not made on time, the organizer may refuse travel services and claim cancellation fees, according to the “Special Conditions” mentioned below.

3. Special conditions: cancellation and modification of the participant

3.1 Communication to the organizer:

In the event of cancellation or modification of the reserved trip, the customer must notify the organizer personally and by registered letter. In this case, the travel documents already received must be returned simultaneously to the organizer. To determine the date of cancellation or modification, the working day of receipt of the declaration is valid.

3.2 Application fees:

The organizer collects administration fees amounting to CHF 0.- per person. In the event of cancellation, modification of the reserved trip or of the reservation (deferred dates), the organizer receives an additional amount of CHF 300.- to which may be added telephone, fax, e-mail or telegram charges. These administration fees are not always covered by cancellation fee insurance. In addition, in the event of cancellation after the start of the cancellation period, the provisions of the special conditions under point 3.3 apply.

 

 

 

3.3 Cancellation charges for cruises & safaris:

  • 180-140 days before departure: 25% of the price of the arrangement.

  • 139-120 days before departure: 50% of the price of the arrangement.

  • From 119 days before departure: 100% of the price of the arrangement.

  • No-show: 100% of the price of the arrangement. 

If the customer interrupts the trip prematurely, the price cannot be returned to him. He will eventually be reimbursed for unused services, provided that these are not the responsibility of the organiser.

3.4 Cancellation by the organizer:

If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the organizer can cancel the trip up to 4 weeks before departure. Force majeure, disturbances, strikes and other circumstances obliging him to give up the realization of the trip remain reserved and reserves the right to interrupt or modify the itinerary of a trip already in progress. In the event of cancellation, the customer will receive a refund of the full price of the trip. In the event of interruption of the trip in progress, the organizer will reimburse the unused services. Claims for damages are excluded.

 

3.5 Covid-19

Each passenger is responsible for checking the rules for each country visited and the return to Switzerland.
The organizer is not responsible for cancellations related to Covid 19.

4. Passport, currencies, visas and vaccines

The customer is solely responsible for being in possession of the documents necessary for his trip. The organizer will inform him, for information only, in terms of passports, visas, currencies and health policy formalities as well as any vaccinations to be carried out. The organizer has no responsibility when a passenger does not comply with his obligations. If he misses his flight (invalid passport, etc.), he loses all his transport rights and has no right to compensation or reimbursement. The customer is required to confirm his outward and return flight 72 hours before departure.

5. Change of program Hotels / resorts and / or boats

The organizer reserves the right to accommodate the customer in another hotel / resort or on another boat of the same category (overbooking by the hotel, breakdown, etc.).

6. Travel

6.1 Program Changes:

During a trip, unforeseen changes (lodgings, carriers, service providers, schedules, etc.) may occur. The organizer will endeavor in such a case to find an equivalent replacement. Program changes do not give any right to claims for damages, compensation for lost wages, etc.

6.2 Delays and Cancellation:

In the event of delay by the carriers, whatever the reason, the organizer takes no responsibility for damages, such as loss of wages, additional hotel nights, meals, etc. The same applies when there is a flight cancellation by the airline and this results in costs to the passenger.

6.3 Cancellation and repatriation protection:

The client is required to take out “cancellation costs” and “repatriation” insurance.

7. Diving

As a diver holding a diving certificate, the customer is required to respect the directives of the diving instructors/guides, and the prerogatives of his certificate. The customer is solely responsible for providing a medical certificate of no contraindication to scuba diving. Failure to comply with the diving guidelines and/or failure to present the medical certificate and/or patent may result in a limitation or prohibition on diving. The diver implicitly acknowledges having sufficient technical competence to participate in the dives. Claims for compensation or damages are excluded.

Special conditions Covid 19:

 

If one of the official reasons prevents us from leaving, we can request a postponement of the date

 

The reasons :

  1. Quarantine requested by Switzerland before our departure.

  2. Quarantine requested by the Egyptian government before our departure.

  3. Cancellation of our flight.

  4. Closure of the border.

  5. The boat does not leave.

 

 

A private reason cannot be taken into consideration because it would affect the whole group.

 

You are solely responsible for your departure.
